Following the main update for the 2022 model year, the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado is slated to feature modest modifications or some sort of mid-cycle facelift. The changes are far from drastic, as the 2022MY is basically a brand-new model. Meanwhile, the Silverado 2500HD is scheduled for a significant makeover, which will include a redesign of the front and rear parts, a new interior, and probable powertrain improvements.
The Silverado 1500 model could gain some interior updates, especially in terms of technology. However, its design will remain intact and nothing will change under the hood as well. On the other hand, an all-electric powertrain could be on offer, although this is not official yet. The sales will begin at some point next year, most likely in mid-2022.
Super Cruise System Will Be On Offer
The new 2023 Chevrolet Silverado will receive minor updates. This makeover will provide small bodywork modifications and probably slightly larger headlights. Moreover, all trim levels will receive the same upgrades, but all of the updates are barely visible. Aside from that, the manufacturer is yet to release more details, such as new exterior colors and special upgrades to the top trim levels.
On the inside, the 2023 Silverado 1500 will remain an upright pickup truck. This model offers plenty of standard amenities and a high level of comfort. The majority of the interior design and its features will remain unchanged. However, one significant upgrade is about to happen. Yes, we are talking about GM’s new Super Cruise hands-free system. This feature will be optional in some trim levels, and most likely standard in the range-topping model.
2023 Silverado Specs
The upcoming 2023 Chevy Silverado features the same engine lineup as the current model. Furthermore, the manufacturer will not provide enhancements in terms of power and fuel economy. A 4.3-liter V6 gasoline engine is now standard. This output has a 6-speed automatic transmission and produces 285 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque. A smaller 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine is available as an option.
This engine develops 310 horsepower and 347 lb-ft torque. Furthermore, 8-speed automatic transmission is on offer. Optional is a 5.3-liter V8 with 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, which is also one of the most popular selections among buyers. On top of that, there is a 3.0-liter turbodiesel with 277 hp and 460 lb-ft torque. Finally, a 6.2-liter V8 gasoline engine generates 420 horses and 460 lb-ft of torque.
Silverado EV
The most reliable reports are strongly suggesting the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado EV. As you know, the Ford F-150 EV is also coming to the markets. It will be great to see this rivalry once again, this time in the all-electric segment. Reportedly, Silverado EV will borrow a lot of stuff from the approaching GMC Hummer EV truck. Some reports are predicting a larger 200-kWh battery with 400 miles of driving range. However, GM is currently refusing to give any info, including the truck’s power and other specs.
2023 Chevrolet Silverado Release Date, Price
Minor updates won’t increase the price of the forthcoming 2023 Chevrolet Silverado. The new model will start at around $31,500 and the sales will begin in mid-2022. As before, Silverado 1500 pickup truck will rival Ram 1500 and Ford F-150 models.
