The Maverick is a new small pickup truck that comes with a standard hybrid powertrain. However, the upcoming 2023 Ford Maverick could come in an all-electric version in 2023. It sounds exciting, but this is not official yet. However, various sources say that the Maverick Lightning model is very likely.
There will be no changes in 2023MY. Of course, the electric version is the only thing that’s different from the old one. A long time ago, Ford told people they would be able to buy the Maverick truck in South America. Blue Oval is clear that they have big plans for their small pickup.
Electric Ford Maverick Still Not Official
The speculations regarding the electric 2023 Ford Maverick started after the F-150 Lightning truck and the Mustang Mach-E crossover were made official, which caused people to talk about them. There’s going to be a new electric pickup truck from Blue Oval coming out soon. The new Ford Maverick Lightning, which has a lot of power is now the leading candidate. The electric Maverick is going to happen, even though it hasn’t been made official yet. A lot of trustworthy sources say this is true. If you think about it, Ford is going to keep spending money on electric cars.
In the next few weeks, we’ll see the first pictures of the project. The front of the Maverick is going to look a lot like the Lightning on the F-150. Regular Mavericks, on the other hand, won’t be the same as the electric ones. Anyway, this is a small pickup truck, so we expect to see smaller battery packs. On the other hand, Ford will reportedly use the same system you can find in Mach-E crossover and F-150 Lightning truck.
Hybrid and Gasoline Engine Specs
XL is the most basic model with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder and an electric motor as the basic engine. This combination has 191 horsepower and a continuously variable automatic gearbox with it, so it is very fast. EPA says Ford will get 40 miles per gallon in the city, which is about the same as the Escape Hybrid crossover. It can get 40 miles per gallon in the city because hybrid Mavericks only have front-wheel drive, so they can get that in the city.
In the future, Ford says it may add the AWD system if there is enough demand to do so. It’s possible to get a non-hybrid turbo-four 2.0-liter engine that comes with either front- or all-wheel drive. It has 250 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque, so it can do a lot of work. An eight-speed automatic transmission makes it easy to drive. It comes with a lot of other things as well. And while the hybrid powertrain can tow up to 2000 pounds, there is a turbo 2.0-liter engine that can tow up to 4000 pounds.
2023 Ford Maverick Remains Affordable
People in South America will be able to buy the new 2023 Ford Maverick. In addition to the F-150 and Ranger trucks, there are also Raptor versions of these trucks on the market now.
The small pickup will come in three different trim levels, each with a different price. The current model starts at $21,500, so the new model will retain that price. Of course, if the all-electric version really comes out, it will cost above $35,000. The rest of the pickup won’t change, so the 2023MY is a carryover.
