Ford Bronco Pickup Truck: Everything We Know [Confirmed For 2024]

As a major truck maker, Ford wants to have the biggest share in the market of mid-size trucks. The new Ranger doesn’t seem enough, so we are about to see another pickup truck in this class. Yes, we are talking about a pickup version of the long-awaited Bronco. The legendary SUV is about to come in the near future, while the development of the new Ford Bronco Pickup Truck has just started. Most likely, the new truck will hit the market in 2024.

At this point, we don’t know too many details about the new truck. Still, there is plenty of room for speculation, as the new model will have tight connections not just with the SUV counterpart, but with the Ranger as well. These three models will be quite similar in terms of mechanics, while we count on the Bronco’s lifestyle face on the new Ford Bronco Pickup Truck.

Ford Bronco Pickup Truck Design

In terms of base design characteristics, the only thing that seems certain is the platform. As the new SUV is about to ride on the same T6 platform as Ranger, we presume that the Ford Bronco Pickup Truck will do the same. Still, keep in mind that this architecture is expected to be significantly updated. We are about to see a massive use of new lightweight materials and many other design solutions that will make this truck more capable and more efficient.

Another thing that comes to mind is the size. Older generations probably remember the original Bronco pickup. It was also a truck version of the famous SUV, but it was rather a small single cab vehicle. In this case, we count on much bigger dimensions. It’s not hard to conclude that Ford is developing this model to rival Jeep Gladiator. Therefore, we might see similar dimensions as well. The new pickup truck measures around 137 inches in wheelbase, while the overall length goes up to  218 inches.

Styling and Interior Design

It’s not hard to presume that the new Ford Bronco Pickup Truck will have a lot of similarities with the upcoming SUV. This particularly refers to the front end, which is expected to be identical. The Bronco SUV will be unveiled soon and everyone expects to see a highly-accentuated lifestyle approach, a styling that won’t have too many things in common with the rest of Ford’s lineup. The only thing that is certain is that the new model will look very boxy. Also, we are pretty sure that the new model will come in a crew cab layout.

Speaking of the layout, one of the biggest qualities of this truck should be interior space. We count on two quite spacious rows of seats, but also and a well-build and opulent cabin. The new cabin is expected to look pretty much the same as in the new Bronco SUV.

Engines

The new SUV will come standard with a 2.3-liter turbo-four engine, which is good for about 270 horsepower. The same engine is expected in the new pickup truck. Also, we expect to see a performance version, which will probably feature a bigger, V6 engine. Finally, a diesel version is also possible.

However, keep in mind that the new Ford Bronco Pickup Truck is about to come in about five years. Therefore, we will certainly see some form of electrification as well. The new F-150 is about to come all-electric, while the whole lineup will be electrified in some form in the next couple of years. We can’t say whether the new truck will come as a hybrid or all-electric model, but electrification is a certain thing.

Ford Bronco Pickup Truck Release Date

According to our sources, the development of the new pickup truck has just started and it will take years before we see the final product. Therefore, it’s no wonder that most reports suggest that the Ford Bronco Pickup Truck will arrive sometime in 2024.

New Cougar Is On The Way!

The Blue Oval company is seriously expanding the truck lineup. Besides the Ford Bronco Pickup Truck, we are about to see another brand-new pickup truck. This time, we are talking about the Ford Courier, which is expected to hit the market in 2020.

The most interesting thing about the Ford Courier is that it will be a unibody pickup truck. It will share a lot of things with the new Focus, while some reports even suggest it will be more like a coupe ute than a pickup truck. In any case, this model will arrive soon and it will be the smallest and the most affordable pickup truck in Ford’s offer.

  1. Peter says:

WANT! I’ve read elsewhere Ford plans TWO Bronco pickups! One will be based on the unibody Bronco Sport (a ruggedized, off-road capable version of the Escape platform). The article says Ford has seen growing interest (and sales) in pick-ups. According to the article, this will NOT be a Ranger-sized pickup. Instead, think of a truly off-road version of the Subaru BRAT of decades past (why Subaru doesn’t bring back the BRAT is beyond me!)

The other will be based on the full-size Bronco and even more off-road capable than the Ranger 4WD
