2024 Ford Ranger Tremor – A Budget-Friendly Option if Raptor is Too Expensive For You

A lot of things are happening with the 2024 Ranger. It is not official yet, but it looks like the new generation of the truck is on the horizon. Experts believe the redesign is happening on the next-season model. The 2024 Ford Ranger Tremor should be one of the important additions, since all trucks by the Blue Oval company are offering this package, from small Maverick pickup, to heavy-duty rigs. Also, big automotive magazines are reporting about the Ranger Raptor for the US market.

Tremor is going to be a nice entry-level model for off-road enthusiasts. Truckers will have to pay a lot more for the Raptor. The 2024 Ford Ranger Tremor is going to get a 4×4 drive, all-terrain tires, Fox shocks, lifted body, locking rear differential, recovery hooks, and probably a 2.3-liter turbo-four engine the base model is also using. These are certain upgrades. Of course, the package is also bringing a few unique things, such as colors and optional features.

Next-Gen Ranger

Ranger came back to the US market after a short hiatus. Ford discontinued many vehicles in 2012. Although it left North America, Ranger was still available and popular in Australia and Europe. When the midsize pickup market recovered a bit, the Blue Oval was back in the game. However, there were many complains and the truck never reached the top level of class leaders, Chevy Colorado and Toyota Tacoma.

So, the new generation and the 2024 Ford Ranger Tremor should make the entire lineup competitive. Tacoma offers TRD package and Colorado is out with the Z71. At the top level, the Ranger Raptor will compete with TRD Pro and ZR2 Bison versions.

2024 Ford Ranger Tremor Features

The Tremor package is there to provide a smooth ride in not-so-extreme off-road conditions. It should crawl, dip into mud or water, or get you through sand. But, it is not a conqueror who will get everywhere. The upgrades are not so simple. To make the overall system suitable for challenges, Ford will add special shocks, probably Fox, and lift the truck. With a 4WD and all-terrain rubber, those are the first upgrades an off-road pickup must have. Then, the new 2024 Ford Ranger Tremor will add skid plates as well. Optional upgrades will be side steps, bedliner, and even snorkel is possible. Like every special package, this one also brings some unique paintjob.

Ford recently launched a new type of a truck – compact pickup called Maverick. Although experts were not so confident about its success, now many other truckmakers are following the footsteps of the Blue Oval company and develop similar vehicles. Nevertheless, even the small truck has the Tremor package, which was already there for larger siblings – F-150 and Super Duty. The current Ranger offers only three trims. The next-gen vehicle will need to add more options.

Under the Hood

A 2.3-liter turbo-four is the only option for the current generation of the Ranger. In certain non-US markets, buyers can also find a V6 unit or a diesel configuration. The four-banger will stay under the bonnet of the base version. As a lighter off-road configuration, the 2024 Ford Ranger Tremor will also feature this engine. Oil burners are not options for North America. Too bad since Ranger can take benefits of diesel power.

Anyway, a 2.3-liter plant can deliver 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. Power goes through a 10-speed automatic transmission to all wheels. The gas mileage is going to suffer. Experts believe the Tremor is going to drop the fuel economy under 20 mpg. Well, the base version is not too fuel-friendly with 23 mpg combined.

Don’t be surprised if the Ranger introduces a hybrid drivetrain. A PHEV might also be an option for the Tremor, and even the Raptor version. All in all, Ford won’t fail when it comes to off-road performance.

The Ranger Tremor is a mid-range trim, positioned under premium Lariat or Platinum grades. Of course, the Raptor is the most expensive configuration. Experts believe it will cost more than $55,000. The Tremor is a budget-friendly option with an estimated price between $40,000 and $45,000.
