The compact pickup truck segment is rapidly growing. After Ford, Ram and Chevrolet will also introduce their models. The 2024 Chevy Avalanche is making a comeback. However, new model will look like a brand-new vehicle. Still, some styling cues will be taken from the previous generation of Avalanche. It was a popular model, produced from 2001 to 2013.
Moreover, it was based on the Chevy Suburban SUV, as the two models shared the same platform. On the other hand, previous Avalanche had larger engines, such as a 5.3-liter V8 gas engine. However, that will change with this new generation. As we said, it will be a smaller pickup, so it will probably feature smaller output, as the focus is mostly on good fuel economy.
Exterior Design
From what we know, new 2024 Chevy Avalanche will look like the previous generation. Of course, the idea is the same, but new Avalanche will look very modern and upright. Right now, many reports are saying that the Chevy Suburban SUV will have a great impact on the Avalanche pickup. The Avalanche would be more focused on ride quality and it won’t look as premium as the Silverado 1500 truck.
With a rumored 134-inch wheelbase, the Avalanche model will have a certain amount of sportiness. The front fascia will be easy to recognize. The rear end will have a short cargo bed, so do not expect impressive cargo capacity. Still, it will be a small pickup with nice styling and good ride quality.
Chevy Avalanche Interior Features
The cabin design will also look modern and upscale. The 2024 Chevy Avalanche will have a very similar dashboard to the Suburban SUV dash. The new pickup should also include a ton of high-tech amenities, including a 10.1-inch infotainment system, a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, and different connection options.
When it comes to seating arrangements, we expect two rows of seats with solid legroom and headroom. Overall, the cabin will be very comfortable and pleasant. However, real luxury is available only in the range-topping trim level.
Possible Engine Options
The engine under the hood of the 2024 Chevrolet Avalanche will be a small one. The Suburban’s 5.3-liter V8 engine, has a maximum output of 355 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque. Of course, the more potent 6.2-liter V8, with a maximum output of 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, is not a good fit as well.
It wouldn’t surprise us to see a diesel engine. The maximum output of this engine is around 275 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. Therefore, Avalanche, as a small pickup, so would need a smaller and fuel-efficient displacement. An automatic gearbox with 10 speeds would be standard on all versions. While 4WD would be an option, the RWD system would come as standard.
2024 Chevy Avalanche Release Date and Price
The forthcoming 2024 Chevy Avalanche will cost below $30,000. It will reportedly compete in the compact pickup truck segment, with Hyundai Santa Cruz and Ford Maverick. The sales will begin later in 2023, possibly in October.
