2021 Chevy Silverado Electric Pickup Truck: Everything We Know So Far

These days, we are getting tons of reports about the Cybertruck. Also, there are constant updates on the all-electric version of the F-150. On the other side, the 2021 Chevy Silverado Electric Pickup Truck seems a little bit overshadowed, despite the fact that GM works at the same pace as the rivals and that the new model is expected to hit the market sometime in the fall of 2021. At this point, most details are still about to come, though we can make some predictions about it.

2021 Chevy Silverado Electric Pickup Truck: What We Know So Far

The new 2021 Chevy Silverado Electric Pickup Truck is still in an early stage of development. The company has big plans for this model and, according to the latest reports, will be built in the company’s Hamtramck assembly. This factory was expected to be closed, but after 48.000 workers went on strike, the management made an agreement and the facility will be adapted for the production of electric vehicles. We expect that several EV models will be produced here, primarily body-on-frame models. Among them, the first one that comes to mind is Silverado Electric Pickup Truck, but EV versions of Tahoe and Suburban as well.

Design

In terms of base design characteristics, we know that the Silverado Electric Pickup Truck won’t be designed separately from the rest of Silverado models. It will use the same T1 platform, but with significant modifications. The exact details are still unavailable, but we count on a skateboard chassis design, similar to the Chevy Bolt. This means that the batter will be positioned under the floor, so the model’s functionality won’t be affected. In terms of the styling, the new version should look pretty close to the standard internal-combustion model.

In terms of performances, insiders suggest that the Silverado Electric Pickup Truck will be close to the Rivian R1T truck. This would mean a max output of around 800 horsepower, sports car performances and a max towing capacity of around 11.000 dollars. More details should be known soon.

2021 Chevy Silverado Electric Pickup Truck Release Date

According to the latest reports, the 2021 Chevy Silverado Electric Pickup Truck will arrive in the fall of 2021, at the same time as F-150 All-Electric and Tesla Cybertruck.

2021 Chevy Silverado Gets New Interior

Besides Silverado Electric Pickup Truck, we are about to see novelties in standard models as well. As you probably know, the recent redesign hasn’t brought bigger changes in terms of interior design. The cabin looks pretty much the same as in the previous-generation model. We expect to see a completely new dashboard design, with a new look, bigger touchscreen more tech features.

Other than a new cabin, we don’t expect to see any particular changes. Count on the same design, same engine lineup etc. Standard models, powered by gasoline or diesel engines will also keep the same price, which starts at 28.500 dollars.
