Electrification is already happening with many carmakers going green in every possible way. On top of that, regular cars are not as popular as before. The world is into crossover SUVs and trucks nowadays. Therefore, Cadillac is another manufacturer that will offer a pickup truck in near future. The 2024 Cadillac Escalade EXT is reportedly on the way.
It is not a brand-new model as Cadillac discontinued this truck almost a decade ago. Now that the return is almost certain, we don’t know if the new model will be completely electric. It does make sense, but the automotive brand is still silent. In any case, here’s everything you need to know about this new truck.
Cadillac Escalade EXT – Will It Happen?
According to reliable sources, yes. The 2024 Cadillac Escalade EXT is on the way, as GM recently reapplied for the EXT trademark. Each manufacturer must reapply from time to time in order to protect the trademark. On the other hand, GM did the same thing with the Hummer, and now Hummer is officially here. The Escalade is a well-known model.
We could say that it is a rebadged Chevrolet Suburban in a way. Giving it the EXT treatment and transforming it into a pickup truck is the next logical step. With so many things unclear, it seems the Escalade EXT model will happen, but no one knows when.
Engine Specs
The 2024 Cadillac Escalade EXT is the next big thing after the GMC Hummer EV, per source. On top of that, Chevrolet Silverado EV will also hit the dealerships in the coming months. Naturally, the Escalade EXT truck will borrow parts from one of the mentioned models. That includes things such as architecture, batteries, and more.
For an instance, some versions of the GMC Hummer EV truck will produce around 1,000 hp and 1,000 lb-ft of torque. Most likely, Escalade EXT will deliver less than that. However, it will be a potent truck anyway. Still, the focus will be on delivering luxury. Therefore, expect a less potent engine, but also expect a driving range of around 350 miles and a fast-charging capability.
2024 Cadillac Escalade EXT Launch Date and Price
The price of the new 2024 Cadillac Escalade EXT is another interesting topic. Nowadays, trucks are popular, but luxury trucks are not a thing yes. Moreover, Escalade EXT could cost a lot of money, especially if it arrives as an EV. Normally, customers are ready to pay around $50,000 for a good truck with a comfortable ride and good capability.
In reality, the Escalade EXT model would cost significantly more than that. If this truck truly arrives with a price of around $100,000, we are not sure if anything good can happen. The price will remain a mystery for another couple of months. As for the launch date, this model will reportedly go on sale in later 2023 or early 2024.
