The 2022 Chevy Silverado HD is coming to the markets later in 2021. The most recent spy photos display various updates. Whatever the case may be, both the exterior and interior of this vehicle will be refreshed. According to various sources, new updates for the upper trim levels are on the way. The engine lineup, on the other hand, will remain unchanged.
The positive news is that the Silverado HD is available for both gasoline and diesel engines. While both models are efficient, a diesel engine is still the better option. The Silverado HD has a diesel engine, which improves fuel economy and towing capability greatly. A few days ago, Chevrolet said the Silverado HD will also offer a new Multi-Flex tailgate and one all-new exterior paint. The first sales will take place in the second half of 2021.
2022 Silverado HD Spy Photos
The spied version shows the most recent exterior improvements. The 2022 Chevy Silverado HD was seen wearing a lot of camouflage. Some of the exterior pieces, on the other hand, are easy to find and identify. For example, the front fascia has the most camouflage. That clearly suggests additional changes in the front part of the truck. Chevrolet will most likely deliver new front fenders, refreshed hood, and the reshaped grille and headlights.
According to the latest news, the upcoming Chevy Blazer and Silverado HD will share the same two-tiered lights. The rear section should gain modified taillights, and the tailgate will also be altered. The Silverado HD will almost certainly use GM’s MultiPro tailgate, so it will be renamed MultiFlex. This feature is optional and Chevrolet will also offer new Greenstone Metallic exterior color.
Interior Changes
The interior of the upcoming 2022 Chevy Silverado HD will undergo significant improvements. Most certainly, the heavy-duty lineup would incorporate elements from the Tahoe and Suburban SUVs. The cabin is roomy, and the interior design will gain minor updates. The newest version will have the same center stack as the two previously listed SUVs.
The interior of the Silverado HD looks kinda boring in its entry-level models. We must disagree, but we must admit that the new refreshments are much appreciated. As a result, the interior would be more modern and have a simpler look. As with previous models, a new one will also introduce new safety aids and an updated infotainment system.
Towing Capacity, Transmission
The forthcoming 2022 Chevy Silverado HD will be powered by the same engines as the current one. As previously said, the positive news is that Chevy continues to sell both gasoline and diesel versions. The standard engine is a 6.6-liter V8 gasoline engine with 400 hp and 464 lb-ft of torque. As you probably know, an aging 6.0-liter output is gone. The 6.6-liter V8 engine is an optional diesel powertrain.
This turbodiesel engine will generate up to 445 horsepower. Furthermore, the diesel engine can produce up to 910 lb-ft of torque. Chevy, like Ram and Ford, will probably provide higher torque ratings in 2022. If this occurs, the latest Silverado HD will have over 1000 lb-ft of torque and over 35,000 pounds of towing capacity.
2022 Chevy Silverado HD Price, Release Date
The all-new 2022 Chevy Silverado HD will be priced at $37,000. The price is slightly higher, but not significantly. The top-of-the-line High Country model, on the other hand, would set you back $65,500. The first deliveries will take place in the second half of 2021. However, we can’t say if this truck will be available in dealerships this summer or later in 2021.
