The 2022 Isuzu D-Max might in the near future be one of the hottest models on the market. Another Japanese manufacturer, Mazda, joined the group. A new architecture, new engine, and various high-tech amenities will be shared with D-Max and BT50. The best-possible mix seems to be the combination of Isuzu build-quality and Mazda’s impressive design language.
The truck must not only preserve but also upgrade its quality. The segment is strong with the established models such as Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger, and Nissan Navara. Australia is potentially the biggest non-US market for pickup trucks that are also called “utes.”
2022 D-Max Redesign
The upcoming 2022 Isuzu D-Max will look astonishing. New model will wear a completely new design and Mazda’s impact is easy to spot. Unlike the current model, a new one comes with a new design language that looks more modern and more competitive. The first photos are showing the next-gen D-Max that was made from scratch. For a start, D-Max will be larger.
Besides changed dimensions, the new model will also wear larger exterior features. Thanks to that, we expect to see more interior room and slightly longer bed as well. This new pickup truck will offer new exterior paints, new wheels, redesigned front fascia, and much more. However, we’ll have to wait for the official reveal when the manufacturer provides more info.
Depending on the trim level, the new 2022 Isuzu D-Max will offer a variety of new features. That includes amenities such as remote engine start, heating, and cooling systems, two-zone climate control, parking sensors, and much more. Generally, the manufacturer will offer more driver-assistance features, so D-Max will be a safer vehicle from now on.
The upper trim levels come with more luxury, including leather seats, additional sensors, blind-spot monitors, and autonomous braking. The steering wheel is brand-new, a dashboard is redesigned and we expect to see new interior color schemes.
Under the bonnet, next 2022 Isuzu D-Max will offer a new 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine. This unit will reportedly generate 187 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque. This is a nice improvement for this pickup truck and we should expect better fuel efficiency as well. Not surprisingly, Mazda BT-50 will offer the same engine option as well.
Holden Colorado is a serious competitor for the D-Max model in Australia. Moreover, models such as Ford Ranger and Toyota Hilux are also in the race. Isuzu said that the 4×4 system will be in the offer, probably as optional equipment. On top of that, D-Max comes with a rear locking differential and limited-slip system.
