2022 GMC Sierra 2500HD Gets Minor Updates and Super Cruise System

The forthcoming 2022 GMC Sierra 2500HD is getting additional changes. It is a heavy-duty truck with an attractive design, modern interior, and great performances. The 2022MY will arrive with minor cosmetic updates, but the interior will introduce more drastic upgrades for sure. And while the rivals such as Ram HD and Ford Super Duty are offering better performance, Sierra 2500HD is equally reliable.

Moreover, the Sierra model offers more luxury and more standard features. Still, this model is right there on top of the segment with a couple of more models. General Motors will launch its new model by the end of 2021 and this is everything we know about this new model.

2022 Sierra 2500HD Facelift

As we said, the 2022 GMC Sierra 2500HD will arrive with minor visual updates. Some rumors are predicting significant exterior changes but that won’t happen. Instead, Sierra 2500HD will continue with its recognizable design and premium styling. The front fascia hosts the same emblazoned grille and prominent scoops. Moreover, the truck wears exactly the same c-shaped LED headlights as its predecessor.

The daytime running lights are slightly refreshed. All trim levels are looking premium, but the range-topping Denali variant is probably the most luxurious trim level in the segment. Sierra 2500HD Denali comes with plenty of chrome, larger wheels, high-gloss black treatment, and very stylish bumpers. Lastly, the 2022MY will arrive with two all-new exterior colors.

Interior Changes

The interior of the 2022 GMC Sierra 2500HD is the best thing about this truck. Competitors such as Ford F-250 and Ram 2500 are offering very modern interior with plenty of standard amenities. However, Sierra 2500HD looks better and more premium. On top of that, this truck also provides more standard features. Again, all trim levels are looking amazing, but Denali trim is something else.

The 2022MY comes with the 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, built-in navigation, and Bose sound system. If you want more luxury, such as leather upholstery and larger displays, upper trim levels are the answer. The biggest upgrade will be the GM’s brand-new Super Cruise hands-free system. However, this system will be on offer exclusively in the Denali trim level.

Gasoline and Diesel Specs

Like the current model, the 2022 GMC Sierra 2500HD will deploy a 6.6-liter V8 powertrain option. This gasoline powertrain is capable of producing 400 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. A 6-speed automatic transmission is available, along with the RWD system. If you want even greater performances, a 6.6-liter V8 turbodiesel is an answer.

It is an optional engine with 445 horsepower. However, diesel output generates up to 910 lb-ft of torque. The rivals are offering even more torque, but Sierra 2500HD could gain some additional twists. A 10-speed automatic transmission is on offer and Sierra 2500HD has 35,000 pounds of towing capacity. The gasoline engine can tow around 18,500 pounds, respectively.

2022 GMC Sierra2500HD Price, Release Date

The forthcoming 2022 GMC Sierra 2500HD will once again cost below $40,000. The price should start at around $38,000, but the famous Denali trim level will cost over $60,000. The sales will begin later this year, most likely this fall.
