There aren’t many reports that talk about this version, which features a couple of od differences compared to the North American model but there is no doubt that this model will come redesigned as well.
This has been officially confirmed and the test mule can be spotted on the roads of Australia as well. The new model is about to come with significant changes, including new engines, new design solutions and more. We expect to see it on the market by the end of next year.

Not only that the next generation will also come to Australia, but the Australian department of the Blue Oval company will once again be in charge of the development of next-generation Ranger. At this point, the testing model already rides on the roads of the continent and we know some of the most basic design characteristics.
The first thing we should mention is that that the new 2021 Ford Ranger Australia is about to carry on with a familiar T6 platform. Of course, the platform will get significant updates, which would provide better performances and overall driving characteristics. Also, the company will implement many design solutions and advanced technologies from the full-size F-150. This particularly refers to materials and weight reductions. Such things are very important these days, as they are crucial for efficiency and overall performance.
Styling and Interior Design
These aspects are still a mystery. As we already mentioned, the new model has been spotted on the road but it still wears a complete camouflage. Certain websites show rendering photos but we can’t say for sure that is the look of the new truck. Still, there is no doubt that the new 2021 Ford Ranger Australia will look the same as North American models. That means a lot of inspiration taken from the F-150, particularly at the front end.
The interior design will also come with big improvements. Standards in the segment are much higher these days, so even mid-size trucks, which are primarily working machines, no come with hi-quality interiors. Just a quick look at Gladiator’s or D-Max’s new cabins and you’ll know what we are talking about. Therefore, higher-grade materials and loads of new tech goodies seem like a certain thing.
2021 Ford Ranger Australia Engines
The current models come with two diesel engines in the offer. The latest reports suggest that the 2021 Ford Ranger Australia will come with one unit that will replace both of them. That should be a good-old 3.0-liter Power Stroke V6 turbodiesel, the same engine that powers the F-150. This engine definitely isn’t a spring chicken, but the newest version is pretty efficiency and delivers a respectable amount of power.
The max output goes around 186kW and almost600 Nm, so we may count on some pretty respectable performances, including towing capacity that will put this truck among class leaders. The current generation already features quite respectable 3500kg of max towing capacity, but the new engine should provide significant improvements.
The testing model has also been spotted with a gasoline engine. It is a 2.7-liter V6, which is good for about 242kW and 542Nm. However, the company is probably preparing this engine for the U.S. market and we don’t expect to see it under the hood of 2021 Ford Ranger Australia.
On the other side, there is a chance to see a smaller 2.3-liter turbo-four, under the hood of next-generation 2021 Ford Ranger Raptor. The exact numbers are still unavailable.
2021 Ford Ranger Australia Release Date
As you can see on the spy shots, the 2021 Ford Ranger Australia is in an advanced stage of development, we would say almost production-ready. However, we probably won’t see it on the market before the second half of the next year.
