2020 Nissan Titan to Look More Like The Titan Warrior Concept

The Titan has always been a great machine but never managed to make sales numbers it deserves. We hope that things will improve in the next year, as the Japanese manufacturer is about to introduce a new version, which will receive a full load of novelties. This will be a typical facelift. The testing model has been spotted and we can easily see that many areas have been covered. That clearly indicates changes in these areas, but keep in mind that visual changes won’t be the only ones to come. Therefore, the 2020 Nissan Titan release probably won’t be scheduled for much earlier date than usual, but rather late in the year.

Besides visual updates, we expect to see several changes on the inside, as well as new powertrain options. Sounds like a nice batch of updates for a mid-cycle refresh.

2020 Nissan Titan Changes

2020 Nissan Titan Design Changes

If we consider that the current generation has been around since 2015, this seems like a perfect time to see a mid-cycle update. Therefore, the 2020 Nissan Titan changes will be numerous. Of course, the focus will be on visual appearance. The current model doesn’t look particularly attractive, so there are big expectations from the upcoming model. As we already mentioned, the testing model has been spotted and it comes with a lot of camouflage. Judging on the covered areas, we can clearly conclude that the new model will come with novelties on both ends of the truck.

Of course, more of them will come to the front. The new face should receive a lot of new details. Most of them should be borrowed from the recent Warrior concept. This particularly refers to headlights and the front fascia, which should closely resemble the look of the recent concept. Of course, a new bumper is expected as well. The rear end will also come with novelties, with things like a new bumper, tailgate etc. Also, we expect that the new model will come with a little bit more muscles around wheels. Finally, we count on those typical updates, such as new sets of wheels, new color options and similar things.

Interior

Changes on the inside are expected as well. At this point, it seems early to talk about details, but the latest reports suggest a nice amount of novelties on the dashboard. The first thing we expect to see is a new center stack, with reorganized controls, and a new touchscreen interface. Also, there’s a big chance to see a new instrument cluster. Of course, new color schemes are expected as well. On the other side, the overall interior layout shouldn’t change too much. We will see the same overall cabin and the 2020 Nissan Titan should come with the same configurations in the offer.

Also, we count on updates in terms of new technology features. As we already mentioned, there is a new touchscreen to come, along with the new infotainment system. According to the latest reports, dual-zone automatic climate control will become a standard feature, as well as Siri Eyes Free. A couple of more additions are also possible. Definitely, a nice upgrade compared to the current model.

2020 Nissan Titan Engines

When it comes to the powertrain, there is a big chance to see one completely new engine in the offer. We are talking about a new entry-level option. That would most likely be a V6 engine, probably a 3.7-liter unit. The reason is pretty simple. the current model is available with a V8 engine only and that unit isn’t the most economical in the class for sure. In the best case, it can return around 18 mpg and that’s lower compared to most competitors. Therefore, a new V6 base option sounds logical.

However, that doesn’t mean that a well-known 5.6-liter V8 will be dropped. This engine will definitely remain in the offer, with its max output of around 390 horsepower and 394 pound-feet of torque. It offers excellent driving dynamics and makes the Titan one of the most driveable trucks on the markets.

The 2020 Nissan Titan XD Diesel will also carry on in the same way. As you probably know, this version comes with the Cummin’s 5.0-liter V8 turbodiesel, which is good for about 310 horsepower and 555 pound-feet of torque. This version features a much better fuel economy compared to the gasoline engine. Also, it is the most capable version of the truck, with a max towing capacity of around 12.500 pounds.

2020 Nissan Titan Release Date and Price

There is a very nice amount of novelties to come, so the new model will probably come a little bit earlier than usual. Still, we don’t expect to see it before the last quarter of the year. When it comes to the price, it should be lower compared to the current model, as base versions will now come with a V6 engine.
