Things are even more frustrating if we consider that the rival company Ram has its HD-based Power Wagon for years. Since Ford hesitates to make this version, truck lovers had to make it on their own. This model comes from Defco Trucks, a Detroit based company, which brings to us an amazing 2020 Ford F-350 Mega Raptor, which is supposed to be an ultimate pickup truck.
2020 Ford F-350 Mega Raptor is the Ultimate Pickup Truck!?
We can’t say for sure is the 2020 Ford F-350 Mega Raptor the ultimate pickup truck, but we are pretty sure that this could be an ultimate toy for many truck enthusiasts. As we already mentioned, this truck has been built by a company called Defco. Of course, the F-350 has been used as the basis, so we are actually talking about a real one-ton truck, a super-capable machine already in its stock variant.
Modifications on this model are numerous. Engineers from the aforementioned company did their best work in order to Raptorize this truck. Of course, the focus in on the off-road upgrades, so the 2020 Ford F-350 Mega Raptor goes in the same way as Ford’s light-duty Raptor. Suspension modifications are numerous. A complete off-road suspension package has been installed, while the ground clearance is significantly higher. Still, the most prominent details about this truck are huge off-road wheels and tires, which measure monstrous 46 inches in diameter.
Styling
Of course, such an amazing truck deserves a distinctive styling as well. At the first look, the most impressive thing about the 2020 Ford F-350 Mega Raptor is its huge wheels and off-road tires. The truck looks impressive with those industrial-like wheels but that’s not all from visual upgrades. Of course, such huge wheels required a lot of modifications on fenders and front and rear wings in general. Naturally, the truck comes in a pretty exclusive color combination of menacing flat gray and sky blue colors, along with interesting graphic details. A lot of sheet metal has been modified, while the stock bumper has been removed. Instead, we can see a simple, military-like bumper, which is integrated with underbody protection. The grille has bee blacked as well.
2020 Ford F-350 Mega Raptor Engine
According to many drivers, the problem with the factory’s F-150 Raptor is in the powertrain. As you know, it comes with a 3.5-liter V6, which is good for about 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. On paper, this looks great but the small displacement doesn’t leave such impression. Eight cylinders would definitely do a better job, as well as an oil-burner. Unfortunately, the best you can get with a diesel engine is a smaller Ranger Raptor, but that engine is way too small and with the subpar amount of power.
Therefore, engineers from Defco upgraded already amazing 6.7-liter Power Stroke turbodiesel, which in stock version delivers impressive 925 pound-feet of torque. With a new turbo upgrade, it goes all away up to 1400 pound-feet of torque. Details about horsepower are still unavailable.
