Ranger is an all-new truck and the 2025 YM won’t bring huge changes. Raptor edition is now part of the lineup, so the company can’t beat it with something else. Tremor package was already available. There are a fresh styling, a modern and cozy interior, plenty of features that will make work easier, and the new lineup of engines for the 2025 Ford Ranger. The Blue Oval company started sales of the fifth-gen model and soon we will have the first feedback. It will be too early to fix issues already in 2025.
The first good thing about the new 2025 Ford Ranger is a revisited engine room. A 2.7-liter engine is a refreshment compared to previous editions. An alternative is a potent V6 for the Raptor edition with extra power and torque. Towing capacity is improved and the Ranger has a payload of 1,900 pounds. The ride might be the main issue. Owners sometimes call it rough. First impressions about the interior are not so great. Rivals offer more space, especially in the back. The Raptor version joins the lineup, but it is a high-end option. You can save a lot by purchasing a proven Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro, and even more if you opt for an underrated Nissan Frontier Pro-4X.
New Engines and Specs
When the Ranger came back to the US, it was a carry-over of the model we could find abroad. But without a diesel engine and the Raptor upgrade. Now, the truck is all-new and the company also launched the lineup of engines that replaced old ones.
The base configuration combines a 2.3-liter turbo-four mill with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Total output is 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. The company donwpowered the setup because there is an alternative – a 2.7-liter V6. Here, you are getting 315 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. Rear-wheel drive is standard. Optional upgrades are AWD and an electronic locking differential aif you want to boost traction.
A hybrid mill is missing. Instead, the new 2025 Ford Ranger Lightning electric truck could debut. The Raptor edition features a mighty 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 plant.
Packages and Accessories
Only three models (plus Raptor, but it is a league for itself) are available to buyers of the truck. The base version is the Ranger XL and the company packs it with a 10-inch infotainment system and an 8-inch driver’s display. The STX appearance bundle is a part of the entry-level model, as well as the SYNC4 safety. A set of 17-inch alloy wheels is standard.
The XLT adds CoPilot360 with Blind Spot Monitor. The safety system also gets Lane Keep assist, park assist, and a rear-view camera. A power outlet is available inside the cabin, as well as in the bed. The XLT model also features wireless charging pad, power-folding mirrors and extra lighting (fog lights, bed lights, LED tail lights).
Lariat is currently the most prestigious package. The company might add a trim with more options. Until this happens, the Ranger Lariat is offering push-button start and phone app access. Machined wheels are unique as a part of the Sport Appearance package. Larger displays are in the cabin, which is cozier thanks to leather upholstery and seats. Adaptive cruise control and traffic sign recognition are high-end features. B&O sound is a final touch.
2025 Ford Ranger Raptor
Above all those packages is the 2025 Ford Ranger Raptor. Buyers in the United States had to wait a bit longer to get the ultimate upgrade for off-road drive. The new version is more expensive than the Tacoma TRD Pro or Chevy Colorado ZR2. But, it is Raptor – synonym for toughness and unstoppable drive.
The main upgrade is a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engine with 405 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. Plus, the truck is getting serious off-road gear, such as Fox shocks, uplifter switches, skidplates, unique graphics. The Raptor package also uses some hi-tech gadgets and advanced options you can find in the Lariat model.
2025 Ford Ranger EV Lightning
This is not the end of upgrading the truck. The latest news reports about the electric pickup. The Lightning concept is already introduced for the F-150 truck. Now, it can also serve as the base for a smaller Ranger. Specs and range of the electric powertrain are still unknown, as well as the price. But, the 2025 Ford Ranger Lightning is a model that can steal the show.
2025 Ford Ranger Pricing
All four available models will be back in 2025. Without changes on them, we don’t expect prices to go up. The base version costs $32,500. However, there are many upgrades, even for the XL version. The XLT is a $3,000 upgrade. Lariat is a premium version with a price tag of $44,000. The most expensive off-road midsize truck is the Ranger Raptor. Its base price is $56,000, which is $5,000 more than the Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro. If you want to save, the Frontier Pro-4X is a good choice for $41,000.
