The next-gen 2023 Ford Ranger will be completely new, and we anticipate that it will be on sale later in 2022. While the next-generation Volkswagen Amarok will be based on the Ranger and constructed beside it at the same plant in South Africa, the Volkswagen pickup will look nothing like its Blue Oval counterpart. However, it appears that these “twins under the skin” will be quite different in a variety of other ways.
A new design will be bolder and the Ranger pickup will most likely run on a 2.3-liter gasoline engine with the standard RWD system. Of course, a diesel engine is expected, along with the hybrid powertrain and standard AWD configuration. There is also the Tremor package and the high-performance Raptor model will be available too.
Ford Ranger Exterior Redesign
Visually, the new 2023 Ford Ranger will be a completely new model. Naturally, a new design is based on the Ford F-150, which is a good thing. Therefore, the mid-size Ranger will gain a more rugged appearance with bolder bumpers. Moreover, the front fascia sports a new grille, c-shaped LED headlights, and new front graphics. The rear section comes with redesigned taillights and the side profile will host bolder wheel arches.
Thanks to various trim levels and optional packages, the Ranger model will be a very distinctive and versatile pickup truck. Ford will once again provide entry-level models with a more traditional design. However, Blue Oval will also offer off-road variants such as Tremor and FX4 packages. If you want the sportiest version with higher performances, Ranger Raptor is the best version you can get. A redesign is on the way, and we are waiting for the first official images.
Interior Overhaul
The cabin of the 2023 Ford Ranger will also see further improvements. Reportedly, the new model will have an interior that looks closer to Ford Edge SUV. This means the mid-size pickup will look more modern and upright. For a start, Ranger will obtain a digital gauge display, along with the new dashboard. New air vents are also in the works, along with a new layout of buttons and controls.
Generally, Ranger will be more digitized, and the new infotainment system should provide a more user-friendly experience. We don’t know if Ford plans to offer new upholstery, either cloth or leather. Tech-wise, a 10.1-inch touchscreen comes as standard, while the vertical 12.1-inch unit will be optional. Upper trim levels are coming with ambient lighting, a B&O sound system, and much more.
Engine Options
The forthcoming 2023 Ford Ranger will deploy the same 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine. This unit provides solid performances, so an optional turbodiesel V6 engine should be a much better choice. The standard engine delivers 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. On the other hand, a diesel powertrain will produce 400 horsepower and a torque of 415 lb-ft of torque.
A 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine should also be on offer, developing 310 horses and 400 lb-ft of twists. Ford will offer a ten-speed automatic transmission as standard. The current model is capable of towing 7500 pounds. We believe the brand-new Ranger will provide slightly better towing capacity.
2023 Ford Ranger Price, Release Date
According to many car experts, the new 2023 Ford Ranger will start at around $27,500. Furthermore, the range-topping Ranger Raptor will cost around $50,000. The sales will begin at some point this year, most likely in the third quarter of 2022.
