The upcoming 2023 Ford F-150 Rattler is coming to the markets. It is a very affordable off-roading package for the XL trim level. Essentially, the Rattler package takes lots of stuff from the FX4 package, including skid plates and all-terrain tires. On top of that, the Rattler kit comes with mechanical upgrades such as off-road shock absorbers and an electronic locking rear differential.
No doubt, it will be a very popular package, especially because it is affordable. This is the latest addition to the lineup of F-150 trim levels and packages. If you want more than what Rattler has to offer, go for the Raptor model.
Visual Upgrades
The new 2023 Ford F-150 Rattler, as we just discussed, will be available on the XL trim level. This package will improve the truck’s off-road ability. Things like an electronic locking rear differential, hill descent control, off-road shock absorbers, and all-terrain tires are all available. You also receive a set of skid plates, which guard the front differential, transfer case, and fuel tank.
In addition to these significant off-road improvements, the F-150 Rattler will also have several unique aesthetic elements that will emphasize the model’s off-road capabilities. The new exhaust system and new 18-inch alloy wheels are two of the first changes you’ll notice. Additionally, you can rely on items like “Rattler” logos and emblems on the fenders.
Interior
There will also be a few unique interior design elements. The 2023 Ford F-150 Rattler will add nice bronze accents and contrast stitching. Nevertheless, bear in mind that since this model is based on the XL trim, the cabin’s layout will remain straightforward, and less expensive materials and cosmetic enhancements will be used.
On top of that, the list of included standard equipment won’t be very extensive. The 2023 Ford F-150 Rattler will be available in Super Cab or Super Crew configurations. Both cabin setups can accommodate up to five persons. As you can see, Rattler is a nice way to improve the truck’s off-road capabilities, but it won’t add real luxury or anything similar.
Ford F-150 Rattler Specs
As we said, if you want ultimate off-road capability with more power, Ford F-150 Raptor is the way to go. On the other hand, the 2023 Ford F-150 Rattler won’t improve the truck’s performance. As this is a package for the XL trim level, it will have the same engine options as this entry-level model. The base engine is a 3.3-liter V6 with 290 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque.
Of course, you can always opt for one of the optional powertrains. There are engines such as 2.7-liter V6 and 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost. Moreover, there is a larger 5.0-liter V8 unit known as the “Coyote”. Lastly, a hybrid powertrain that combines a 3.5-liter V6 with an electric motor is perhaps the best possible choice. All engines are using the same 10-speed automatic transmission.
2023 Ford F-150 Rattler Release Date and Price
According to Blue Oval carmaker, the new 2023 Ford F-150 Rattler will become available this fall. The price will be very affordable, but no official words about it. Since the Rattler is based on the XL trim level that costs $30,000, the price will be in range with the Tremor package, which means an additional $2,000. If you find the F-150 Raptor model too expensive, the F-150 Rattler is the way to go.
