2024 Nissan Titan is On the Way Out

Good news truck fans, we are getting the new 2024 Nissan Titan after all. Previously there were rumors circulating about discontinuing the Titan model. This came as a bit of a shock since the pickup was selling quite well. Nissan decided that after all, they will continue to deliver this model. But with a twist. It is coming as an electric version for the next generation.

This is a good idea, this way they future-proof it. Making sure the new emission regulations don’t harm the market share they are getting with Titan. It remains to be seen what kind of changes will be incorporated so that the truck can accommodate all components. Let’s see what the new Titan will look like.

Nissan Titan Interior Updates

The inside of the fresh 2024 Nissan Titan won’t change much. There will be improved seating with better cushioning. No massaging feature though, heating and ventilation are added. Infotainment is a 13-inch screen with standard connectivity. There are plenty of safety features included. Lane departure alert, front collision alert, pedestrian detection, and automatic brakes. Perhaps we get hands-free driving with the new Nissan.

Redesign is Not Happening

The truck keeps its rugged look. It has commendable ride height with big wheels. They are 19-inch lightweight rims to shave off some weight. Big front fascia with air intakes. Two levels of headlights with the latest LED technology. Perhaps an LED bar would do a better job. Bumpers are seamless and they fit well with the overall design. It has winch and hook capability which can come in handy on off-roading adventures especially. The cargo bed is standard 5.5 feet long with a multifunctional tailgate.

Titan and Titan XD Specs

Currently, a 5.6-liter V8 engine with 400 horsepower is offered for the Titan model. The Nissan Titan will most likely offer the same drivetrain in 2024. This output will undoubtedly get a lot of enhancements. Nissan is reportedly already working on a hybrid version, though. The most likely engine to be used is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6. The same engine powers the Infiniti Q60 model. Delivering both mild- and plug-in-hybrid choices is the plan.

That will enable the new Titan to deliver exceptional fuel efficiency and low-end torque. A Titan that runs entirely on electricity will also be arriving. Given the impending arrival of the Ford F-150 Lightning and GMC Hummer EV, Nisan must do it. It’s interesting to note that Nissan will collaborate on electrification with Hercules Electric Vehicles. According to rumors, the vehicle will have a dual-motor arrangement with approximately 600 horsepower and a bigger 150 kWh rechargeable battery pack. This move as we already mentioned is a great way to ensure Titan’s future.

New regulations can’t harm it. It is appealing to buyers due to its low carbon footprint. And it has amazing power and performance. Of course, the platform would have to change to accommodate all the electric components. They will have to be moved under the cabin. This would in turn improve handling and stability since it gives a better center of gravity. Nissan has the option of borrowing the platform or simply making its own. Due to the short time frame of the release date, they might go the easier route and borrow one.

Fuel Economy

The 2024 Nissan Titan is a bit on the thirstier side. The pickup gets around 15 mpg in the city, 21 on the highway, and 18 in combined driving. Of course, if Nissan goes forth and introduces hybrid or electric variants, this would change for the better. Hybrid powertrains give amazing mileage and also make the engine last longer due to less stress to it.

The electric variant should aim for at least 300 miles of range on a single charge. This would be easily achieved with a battery pack of no less than 100 kWh. But we suspect that Nissan will go heavier than that.

2024 Nissan Titan Price and Release Date

We don’t expect to see the new 2024 Nissan Titan earlier than the summer of 2023. This is just in time when other manufacturers release their creations. The traditional powertrain version will start at around $37000, and the V8 version about $40000. While the electric and hybrid versions might be even pricier.
