Although we are talking about a pretty fresh pickup truck, the next year will be very important, as we are about to see a lot of novelties. Of course, it’s mostly about the new cabin, which is finally about to come redesigned, with a slight delay compared to the rest of the vehicle. This change will affect the 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 too. So, we count on a new cabin in the case of this model as well.
Other than that, the 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 shouldn’t feature any particular change. Of course, novelties in terms of standard features are always possible but don’t expect anything significant. On the other side, this model will carry on as an off-road version of the truck, with various kinds of upgrades, both in terms of mechanics and in terms of aesthetics. We expect to see it in the second half of 2020.
2021 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 Design
As we already mentioned, the 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 interior will be the biggest novelty for the next year. On the other side, the rest of the vehicle is about to remain pretty much the same. Therefore, count on all those upgrades that make this model stand out. This particularly comes to off-road upgrades. Things like Traction Select System, Hill Descent Control, off-road-tuned Rancho monotube shock absorbers, 4WD with a two-speed transfer case and a locking rear differential, a 2-inch factory-installed suspension lift, skid plates, a MultiPro Tailgate, red vertical recovery hooks, a Carbon Fiber Pickup Box are some of the highlights on the list of standard equipment.
When it comes to the styling, there are various upgrades as well, starting from a blacked, pretty exclusive-looking grille. Also, the offer of 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 colors will be pretty interesting. The current model is available in Onyx Black, Summit White, Satin Steel Metallic and Carbon Black Metallic color options. Still, there is always a chance to see some additions for the next year.
Interior
There is no doubt that this will be the biggest novelty for the next year. We are finally about to see a new dashboard design, different from the one that carried over from the previous generation. As you’ve probably read, there will be a distinctive dashboard design for the luxurious Denali trim. On the other side, the 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 interior will feature the same dashboard design as standard models. It comes with a tablet-like touchscreen instead of the integrated one found in the new Denali. Of course, we have no doubt that this version will come with loads of exclusive aesthetical solutions. Unique upholstery, trim and tech goodies like a 15-inch head-up display are some of the things that come to mind.
Features
Other than a couple of exclusive features, this trim level features essentially the same list of standar equipment as the SLT trim and we presume that the next-year model won’t be much different. This particularly refers to the list of tech goodies. The current model comes with things like MultiPro configurable tailgate, dual-zone climate control, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, a trailer brake controller, heated-and-ventilated front seats, heated rear seats etc. Of course, the list of standard features also includes things like a rearview camera, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth and other typical tech goodies.
A couple of novelties for the next year are possible, though there isn’t much more to ask for. This refers to tech goodies. On the other side, we would definitely like to see a couple of more safety systems on the list of standard equipment, even though we are talking about an off-road truck.
2021 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 Engines
Three engines are currently available with this model and we have no doubt the next-year model will carry on in the same way. Of course, the standard engine is a 5.3-liter V8. It delivers 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, which is the amount of power that will satisfy most drivers. On the other side, those who look for something more powerful can pick an optional 6.2-liter V8. This one is good for about 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.
Those who look for something efficient can count on the 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 Diesel, will carry on with a familiar 3.0-liter V6 that delivers around 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.
All three engines come in pair with a smooth-shifting 10-speed automatic transmission.
2021 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 Release Date and Price
We expect to see the launch of this model sometime in the second half of the year. However, more precise details about the 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 release date are yet to be determined. When it comes to the price, we don’t expect changes, so base versions should go around 51.000 dollars. Key competitors are models like Ford F-150 Raptor, Toyota Tundra TRD Pro etc.
