2021 Ford Lobo Redesign, Changes, Hybrid, Price

The F-150 is the best-selling pickup truck in the world and the Mexican version, known as Ford Lobo, also takes a decent share. Therefore, we have no doubt that the 2021 Ford Lobo will also receive a redesign, just like the North American version. We are about to see a plethora of changes, even though the new styling doesn’t suggest such a thing. Visually, the new model will be just an evolution of the current model. On the other side, we will see lots of mechanical changes, which will provide better performance and capabilities, as well as improved driving experience.

Among big novelties, we should mention loads of engine options in the offer. Most of them will carry on from the current generation, but there are some new engines as well. The new generation is almost ready and we have no doubt it will hit the market by the end of the year.

2021 Ford Lobo Redesign

The upcoming redesign will bring a plethora of interesting changes. The key word of this redesign is evolution. Simply, the changes won’t be as radical as the ones that happened with the previous overhaul. To remind you, the outgoing model came with significant novelties. We saw a revolutionary design with the body and chassis made mostly from lightweight materials like aluminum and HSS. Considering that these changes were pretty significant, it seems logical that the upcoming redesign won’t be that exciting. Still, we have no doubt that the Blue Oval company will continue to work on these technologies. So, the new model should be lighter, stiffer and more capable.

When it comes to the styling, the rendering photos show nothing but evolutionary changes. The overall shape remains largely the same, while the new front end brings the changes that are more appropriate for a facelift. This just confirms that Ford engineers did a fantastic job with the last overhaul and that there is no need for more significant changes at the moment.

Interior

On the other side, the aspect that definitely needs improvement is the cabin. The current model isn’t particularly exciting and it is more focused on functionality. This time, we will see much more in terms of aesthetics and opulence. The new dashboard looks far better and utilizes new, much finer materials. Furthermore, base models will now come with an 8-inch touchscreen, while an optional 12-inch unit comes as to compete with Ram’s same-sized unit.

All in all, the new cabin will look much better, while we don’t expect any particular changes in terms of dimensions and passenger space. Also, you may count on the same cab styles in the offer, as well as on the same trim level organization.

2021 Ford Lobo Engines

When it comes to the powertrain, the 2021 Ford Lobo will offer something for everyone. Base models will carry on with a 3.3-liter V6. Also, you may count on a couple more familiar V6 units. We are talking about newer-generation EcoBoost engines, with 2.7 and 3.5 liters in displacement. Furthermore, we have no doubt that the well-known 5.0-liter V8 Coyote will remain in the offer, while the 3.0-liter turbodiesel should be available as well.

One of the potential novelties for the 2021 Ford Lobo is a hybrid version. Allegedly, this model will be based on a 3.5-liter V6 and should come with a quite powerful electric motor, for “class-leading” numbers, according to the company. The all-electric version is expected in the future as well, but we don’t expect to see it for another couple of years.

2021 Ford Lobo Release Date and Price

We presume that the 2021 Ford Lobo will arrive by the end of the year. When it comes to the price, base models should go around 735.000 Peso. That would be slightly under 33.000 dollars, according to current exchange rates.
