The luxury carmaker tried with this truck a couple of times but didn’t have too much success. However, that won’t stop the company to take another try with this model, which originally came in 2006. So far, we have seen two versions of it and the last one was in production until 2014. After several years of break, the familiar nameplate will come back as the 2020 Lincoln Mark LT Pickup Truck, if we can rely on the latest reports. Details about the new truck are still unknown, though we could presume some of the base design characteristics that would characterize the new model. In any case, expect to see it in the next year.
2020 Lincoln Mark LT Design
In terms of base design characteristics, there is no doubt that the new model will be based on Ford’s familiar platform, the same one that underprints the F-150, as well all SUVs in the company’s lineup, including the Navigator. Therefore, experts are coming with different predictions about the new truck. On one side, many suggest that the 2020 Lincoln Mark LT could be nothing more than a rebadged F-150, with different sheet metal, but completely same mechanics.
On the other side, many believe that the new model would be in a tight connection with the Navigator. This would include several design solutions that are exclusive for this luxury SUV, including an independent rear suspension, which raises the comfort to the completely next level.
Of course, one of the first things that come to mind is the styling. Once again, we have divided opinions. On one side, the new truck could easily feature the same shape as the F-150. Of course, it would feature a completely different front face, based on Lincoln’s current design language.
On the other side, there is a big chance to see a styling that is heavily based on the Navigator, which in practice means pretty much the same shape from the front bumper to B-pillar, or even further, while the rest of the vehicle would come in a typical truck manner.
Once again, it largely depends on the company’s basic approach. We could see either see an F-150 inspired dashboard, with a couple of luxury touches, or the same dash as in the Navigator. The second option makes more sense if we consider that in that we Lincoln Mark LT would be able to deliver much more luxury, and that’s what people expect from this brand. Besides plenty of luxury, we count on tons of advanced tech goodies, including latest infotainment technologies, advanced safety features and tons of comfort and convenience goodies.
2020 Lincoln Mark LT Engine
When it comes to the engine, we have no doubts, even though there is no official confirmation from the company. We are absolutely sure that the new 2020 Lincoln Mark LT would come with a potent 3.5-liter twin-turbo engine, the same one that powers F-150 Raptor, as well as the Navigator. This engine delivers pretty impressively 450 horsepower, which seems more than enough for the excellent driving experience.
Along with plenty of power, the new truck would also come with a new 10-speed automatic transmission. Various reports are also suggesting a possibility to see a 5.0-liter V8 Coyote in the offer, but that doesn’t sound very likely, in our humble opinion.
2020 Lincoln Mark LT Release Date and Price
These days, you can find a lot of reports that are suggesting the new truck could easily come already in the next year. However, keep in mind that we haven’t heard anything from the officials yet, so it may not even come after all. In any case, if it arrives the base2020 Lincoln Mark LT price would probably go around 65.000/70.000 dollars.
