After the Ford F-150 Lightning, Ram is about to introduce an all-electric version of its best-selling truck. The 2024 Ram 1500 EV is coming to the dealerships, at some point next year. This version will look more futuristic than the regular gasoline-powered model. Still, Ram will create new styling in a subtle way, so don’t expect anything weird. It is a new design language, and we also expect a couple of novelties inside the cabin.
As for the performance, Ram 1500 EV will be competitive, in line with mentioned F-150 Lighting and Chevy Silverado EV. Of course, the electric truck segment will include more models such as Rivian R1T, GMC Hummer EV, and Tesla Cybertruck. While we are waiting for more official details, here’s everything we know so far.
Ram 1500 EV Styling
The new 2024 Ram 1500 EV will look very appealing and modern. Don’t expect anything polarizing, like the appearance of the Tesla Cybertruck. Instead, Ram will deliver an illuminated “RAM” logo on the front fascia, along with the traditionally-looking grille. The daytime running lights are new, using LED technology.
The manufacturer will also provide graphics and a new lower bumper. Still, all we have at the moment are the rendering images, so we are waiting to see the first official photos. Also, Ram should deliver a couple of exciting trim levels, where one of the versions will be an off-road model.
Interior Features
Inside the cabin, the new 2024 Ram 1500 EV will provide lots of passenger room and a high level of comfort. According to Ram, it will be the best interior in the business. We expect to see huge infotainment screens, along with the all-digital instrument cluster. Furthermore, the manufacturer will provide a head-up display (HUD) and allow over-the-air updates.
A Level 2 semi-autonomous driving should come as standard. On the other hand, we don’t know if the higher autonomy levels will be available at all. The cabin will be able to accommodate five passengers and the comfort will be admirable.
Engine Specs
The brand-new 2024 Ram 1500 EV will sit on the STLA Frame platform. This architecture will underpin future and larger trucks and SUVs. It is a body-on-frame platform, large enough to host high-capacity batteries. Thanks to that, a fully electric Ram 1500 will provide up to 500 miles of driving range.
The smallest battery is a 159-kWh unit, while a 200-kWh battery pack will be available in the range-topping versions. An 800-volt charger, along with the DC fast charger will be available. As for the power, the strongest version will be able to produce around 885 horsepower. On the other hand, the base variant will develop 445 hp.
2023 Ram 1500 EV Launch Date, Price, Rivals
The price of the 2024 Ram 1500 EV will remain a mystery for another few weeks. The carmaker is about to reveal more details, including the truck’s price. The sales will begin at some point in 2023, most likely in the first half of the year. As for the competitors, Ram 1500 EV will rival the new Ford F-150 Lightning, Chevrolet Silverado EV, Toyota Tacoma EV, GMC Hummer EV, Rivian R1T, and Tesla Cybertruck.
