More improvements will be made to the upcoming 2023 VW Amarok. This model is based on the Ford Ranger mid-size truck. Much information will be exchanged between the two manufacturers, which is a good thing. Following the first teaser image of the Amarok pickup, Volkswagen has published the second. As you may be aware, Volkswagen just introduced the new-generation Amarok.
This model is now complete and ready for future development. The Amarok truck is expected to make its way to the United States, according to reports. On top of that, the Amarok will continue its journey in Australia as well. The sales will begin in late 2022 or early 2023.
2023 Amarok Spy Shots
Spy images taken at Ford’s Dearborn, Michigan, test track reveal a new Ranger-sized pickup truck testing with certain Volkswagen features, such as the lighting system. The 2023 VW Amarok will share a lot of things with the Ranger model. However, the head and taillights on this truck appear to be different from those on the forthcoming Ranger. In contrast to the Ford, these headlights appear to have horizontal DRLs that resemble Volkswagen ones.
The taillights are likewise different from the more complex double-bump ones found on the Ranger. Higher fog lights also hint at the nature of this truck’s logo. From what we saw, the new Amarok won’t suffer a complete exterior redesign. However, cosmetic upgrades are significant and a new model will look better as a result.
New Engine Under the Hood
The powertrain lineup has yet to be revealed by Volkswagen. The German truck, on the other hand, will be powered by Ford’s turbo-diesel V6 engine. The engine is most likely a 3.0-liter Power Stroke V6. This V6 diesel engine might suffer some tweaks to meet the specifications of the 2023 VW Amarok. There have been no official specs provided as of yet. Aside from the new chassis, new engine, better 4WD system, and 10-speed automatic gearbox, it’s unclear what other Ford components will be used in the upcoming Amarok.
We expect a larger touchscreen and maybe a new version of the infotainment system. While the T7 Ford Ranger will be a plug-in hybrid in some areas, the Volkswagen will not be electrified when it arrives in the United States in 2023. The current Amarok deploys a reliable 2.0-liter engine that generates 160 horsepower and 220 lb-ft of torque. The new engine will undoubtedly be considerably more powerful. As an option, a 3.6-liter V6 engine with 275 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of twists is available.

In any case, the pricing will begin at $35,000 and rise from there. Australia continues to be the world’s largest market for Volkswagen Amarok.
