In addition to the Ford Super Duty and Chevrolet Silverado HD, the Ram 2500 and 3500 HD are class leaders. However, sources say no heavy-duty truck competitor can equal the 2023 Ram Heavy Duty next year. A heavy-duty segment is basically a race between Chevy, Ford, and Ram. For interior elegance and ride quality, Ram beats the competition with ease. Ram will undoubtedly continue this trend next year as well.
These trucks have a spacious interior and can tow up to 37,000 pounds. Both 2500 HD and 3500 HD versions have a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Ram said this truck series will be ready in the second half of 2022.
Ram Heavy Duty Gains Ever Better Looks
The upcoming 2023 Ram Heavy Duty trucks will be more streamlined, like the Ram 1500. We really like the new combination of the headlights and split grille. Ram says each trim level has its own grille. For example, the Power Wagon has a nicer grille and more decorative components. It comes with either single or dual-rear wheels, unlike the Ram 2500.
While the Dually version is identical, it has additional features. The Ram will have smaller taillights and the same bed by 2023. While not a complete overhaul, several modifications are noticeable on the new Ram Heavy Duty lineup.
Interior Changes
Both HD variants and the Ram 1500 are very modern on the inside. Many quality materials are available in the new 2023 Ram Heavy Duty models. The cabin is also fairly roomy and well-equipped with basic equipment. A single cab, a four-door Crew Cab, and a large Mega Cab are offered. The Ram’s interior outperforms Ford and Chevrolet at the moment and this won’t change anytime soon.
Ram features a 12-inch touchscreen. Moreover, it also provides more standard equipment. Navigation, Wi-Fi, Android Auto/Apple CarPlay are all standard. Three 115-volt outlets and extra USB ports are on offer too. Although the base trim level is not as spectacular as the upper trim levels, the cabin decor remains modern and attractive.
Engine Specs, Transmission
The 2023 Ram Heavy Duty will have three drivetrain options. A 6.4-liter V8 with 410 hp and 440 lb-ft is standard. All-wheel drive is optional once again, and this engine comes with an exceptional eight-speed automatic transmission. Familiar Cummins turbodiesel engines with rear- or four-wheel drive are available as an option. The Ram 2500 and 3500 will have 370 hp and 850 lb-ft of torque.
The next one, exclusive to the 3500, produces 400 hp and 1075 lb-ft of torque. This output is only available on the 3500. Both engines use a six-speed automatic gearbox. The new Ram 3500’s Cummins engine can tow up to 37,120 pounds and carry over 8000 pounds. This heavy-duty truck’s regular gasoline V8 can tow “only” 14,500 pounds.
2023 Ram Heavy Duty Release Date and Price
The forthcoming 2023 Ram Heavy Duty will cost more than the outgoing model. As a result, the new model will retail for almost $37,000. The Ram 3500 will also cost roughly $1,000 more than the Ram 2500 HD model. Sales should start in mid-2022, according to the most recent reports.
