The upcoming 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD has been spied once again. We can see numerous visual changes and even a couple of interior upgrades. However, the spied prototype was testing a diesel engine. In case you didn’t know, this turbodiesel engine currently develops around 900 lb-ft of torque.
However, this prototype has over 1,000 lb-ft of torque. It is a major improvement, so the complete Silverado HD lineup will be now more competitive. As before, Ram HD and Ford Super Duty are the biggest rivals. Therefore, Chevy will provide more visual updates, interior refreshments, and more power.

The 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD is a typical workhorse. It appears that the incoming truck can be even better. The spied prototype wears lots of camouflage, showing a couple of visual updates. The goal is to modernize the Silverado 3500HD truck even further. We expect the Silverado 3500 HD to be redesigned in the same way as the outgoing generation. The enormous grille will receive a couple of modifications, along with the headlamps.
Last year, the truck’s headlights were changed, as was the DuraBed feature, which is only available on heavy-duty variants. A power-operated tailgate and trailer-tow mirrors are now a part of standard equipment. Aside from that, we don’t expect big changes.
Interior Shows New Touchscreen
Even the entry-level models of the future 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD will have plenty of quality materials. This heavy-duty truck has supportive seats that are comparable to those found in the Silverado 1500 pickup truck. A 7-inch display with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay is standard, as is a 3.5-inch instrument cluster and a six-speaker stereo system.
The LT variant includes an 8-inch touchscreen, enhanced navigation, a head-up display, and a more upscale Bose sound system. However, the spy photos are showing a 13.4-inch infotainment touchscreen. It is a display that will come standard in the upper trim levels. Chevrolet will provide more driver-assistance aids and more standard features.
Major Improvement for Diesel Engine
The forthcoming 2023 Chevrolet Silverado3500HD will continue to offer two powertrain options. The base gasoline engine is a 6.6-liter V8 with 400 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque. This unit comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission, as before. However, the optional 6.6-liter V8 turbodiesel is the real deal. Not only that. This reliable Duramax engine will gain major improvement.
Right now, it provides 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque. The new model will develop at least 500 horsepower and over 1,000 lb-ft of torque. It will be the most potent diesel powertrain in the heavy-duty segment from now on. A 10-speed automatic transmission, on the other hand, will remain. The upcoming model will be able to tow above 37,000 pounds when properly equipped.
2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD Price, Release Date
The price of the new 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD will start at around $35,500. Furthermore, the top-of-the-range High Country trim level will cost $79,000 or even more. The sales will begin later this year, most likely around September.
