2022 Ram 3500 is Getting Allison Transmission?

The forthcoming 2022 Ram 3500 will continue to deliver exceptional capability and durability. If you need a towing beast, the Ram 3500 is the best choice Ram has to offer. With the right setup, this truck can haul more than 35,000 pounds, which is incredible. A turbodiesel engine is once again available, and it delivers excellent results. Improvements are expected, so the 2022MY will be the best one yet. There are several speculations regarding a new transmission.

A new gearbox is likely to happen, but nothing is official yet. This truck has already seen some significant modifications, but the next one will not be as drastic. Instead, Ram went for another mid-cycle refresh. A gasoline engine is available as standard, while diesel is optional once again. We can’t wait to see the new Ram 3500 on the roads and the manufacturer will probably release a complete heavy-duty lineup later this year.

Engine Specs and New Transmission Rumors

Like the current model, the new 2022 Ram 3500 comes standard with a 6.4-liter Hemi engine. It is a gasoline V8 engine that produces 410 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. According to some sources, this engine will be given more power, but we don’t expect to see major improvements. There are still a lot of rumors about the Hellcat engine, but this famous output will not happen. A diesel engine is available as an option, and it is a familiar 6.7-liter turbodiesel.

It generates 400 hp and more than 1000 lb-ft of torque. Moreover, diesel powertrain should arrive with an even higher level of torque. Along with the basic rear-wheel-drive configuration, a six-speed automatic transmission is available. A new 10-speed Allison transmission is likely to happen. However, a brand is yet to deliver more details regarding the new gearbox. The Ram 3500 is capable of towing around 35,000, but you’ll have to load a diesel engine with a dual-rear-wheel configuration.

Trim Levels and Cab Configurations

The upcoming 2022 Ram 3500 truck comes in three cabin configurations. It all starts with a regular cab, but you can also get a crew cab or a super cab variant. Furthermore, Ram has both short and long-bed options. Trim levels should remain intact, so this heavy-duty truck also comes in a variety of configurations. Tradesman is the entry-level trim that includes only the basic stuff. Laramie is a much better buying option, and its cost is not significantly higher. Laramie, on the other hand, offers more standard equipment, but a regular cab is not available.

As before, the top trim level is the Ram 3500 Limited. The base trim level, for example, comes with 17-inch wheels and a 5-inch infotainment display. The Limited model has a bigger 12-inch display, larger wheels, and plenty of comfort. Big Horn is the solution if you’re searching for a mid-level trim. In terms of updates, the 2022MY will receive an improved infotainment system as well as additional driver-assistance features. Since a smaller 5-inch touchscreen must be updated, we anticipate seeing at least a 7-inch unit in the future.

2022 Ram 3500 Price, Release Date

The price of the all-new 2022 Ram 3500 will probably start at $32,500. This truck will continue to compete with other heavy-duty trucks such as the Ford F-350 and Chevy Silverado 3500HD. Sales are expected to begin by the end of the year. Ram, perhaps, will share more information in the coming weeks.
