After the Hummer brand was discounted in 2010, things are going back to normal. The 2022 GMC Hummer EV is almost here and it will be one of the most impressive models of the year. The comeback should happen later this year and even the SUV version will enter production in the near future. A completely new Hummer will arrive in a form of an all-electric pickup truck. General Motors promises astonishing performances and much more.
From what we saw, the new Hummer will be a beat in every possible way. It will deliver up to 1,000 horses and its driving range is equally impressive. GMC will introduce removable features, unique mechanics, and much more. The sales will begin this fall and the most expensive Edition 1 will be available. More affordable trim levels will arrive in 2022 and 2023.
2022 Hummer EV Looks Astonishing
New 2022 GMC Hummer EV will look wild and very aggressive. On the other hand, we can say that GM did a great job in creating a rugged truck with so sleek and modern design. The front fascia comes with odd H-shaped headlights, so the round headlamps won’t be in the offer. The lighting system is truly amazing and we also like the full-width LED light bar. The windshield is another interesting and cool thing about this electric truck.
You can easily spot a higher beltline and narrow side glass. This model rides on 35-inch Goodyear mud-terrain tires and larger wheels. The rear section hosts a MultiPro tailgate, smaller cargo box, and much more. Hummer will also introduce a lot of off-road equipment, including skid plates, underbody protection, and much more.
Spacious and Modern Interior
The upcoming 2022 GMC Hummer EV comes with an impressive interior design. The Hummer will use a form of a crew cab truck with a five-foot bed. The interior will be incredibly spacious. However, that is not the highlight. The highlight is impressive tech features and a removable roof. GM also provides a normal panoramic sunroof. When the roof is open, it creates a convertible truck and something similar can be found on the Jeep Gladiator.
The interior is moon-inspired and it wears a couple of interesting themes. However, a 13.4-inch display is what dominates the cabin. It is an infotainment touchscreen and the manufacturer also offers a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel. We’ll know more about the truck’s features in the coming weeks.
Towing Capacity and Driving Range
The 2022 GMC Hummer EV will be able to produce up to 1,000 horsepower. The three-electric motor setup creates a standard AWD system and Hummer will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.0 seconds. The level of torque is a bit suspicious as GM promises 11,500 lb-ft of twisting power.
According to experts, this truck will actually deliver around 1,100 lb-ft of torque, which is also impressive. This approaching truck will be able to tow around 10,000 pounds, more or less. The exact figures are not available yet. However, we know the 2022 Hummer EV will provide 350 miles of driving range on a single charge.
2022 GMC Hummer EV Release Date, Price
The sales of the 2022 GMC Hummer EV will begin this fall. However, General Motors plans to launch the most expensive “Edition 1” only. This model costs $112,500. After that, at some point next year, the EV3X variant will go on sale and it will cost 100,000.
The EV2X version is scheduled for Spring 2023 and this model will be available for $90,000. Finally, the EV2 model is set to arrive in Spring 2024. It is the most affordable version of the Hummer EV and it will cost “only” $80,000.
