2022 Ford F-250 Gets Larger Screen, New Colors and Packages

The upcoming 2022 Ford F-250 is getting a lot of upgrades. Whatsoever, the complete Super Duty lineup will host the same updates. The biggest upgrade is the all-new horizontally-oriented 12.0-inch touchscreen. We don’t expect to see significant changes like on the new F-150 pickup truck. However, new exterior paints and optional packages will be on offer.

The design will gain a mid-cycle facelift and nothing will change under the hood. The performances are the same, which isn’t a bad thing. The F-250 heavy-duty truck offers potent gasoline and diesel engines with great towing capacity ratings. The sales will begin this summer, according to the latest reports.

New Appearance Packages

As we said, the 2022 Ford F-250 truck is getting a mid-cycle facelift. We expect to see minor visual updates, mostly on the front fascia. However, new Atlas Blue exterior color has been added. Moreover, new appearance packages are on offer. The Lariat sport appearance package offers the same grille, bumpers, and mirrors as the original Lariat trim level.

On top of that, Ford offers more chrome materials, black running boards, and new exterior color. The black appearance package was previously available on the Lariat trim level exclusively. Now, Ford offers this package on the XLT variant as well. This package adds 20-inch wheels, blacked-out badges, and body-colored features such as grille and bumpers.

Ford F-250 Interior to Introduce Larger Touchscreen

The forthcoming 2022 Ford F-250 is also about to introduce further interior updates. For a start, new Baja interior color is available in the Lariat trim level. Furthermore, Limited models will provide new Light Slate and Navy Pier interior color schemes. Still, the biggest upgrade is the new 12.0-inch infotainment touchscreen.

However, in order to get this new and larger unit, you’ll have to buy the Lariat model or above that. New SYNC4 infotainment system is available and it comes with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Lower trim levels are offering a standard 4.2-inch screen, while XLT models are available with a standard 8-inch unit.

Engine Lineup and Towing Capacity

New 2022 Ford F-250 continues to offer a standard 6.2-liter V8 gasoline engine. This unit is capable of producing 385 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. Another gasoline engine is optional and it is a 7.3-liter V8 with 430 horsepower. The optional 6.7-liter PowerStroke diesel powertrain is still the most powerful output.

This turbodiesel engine develops 475 horsepower and 1050 lb-ft of torque. You can choose between a standard rear-wheel-drive or an optional four-wheel-drive system. On top of that, FFord offers both six-speed automatic and ten-speed automatic transmission. The truck can tow up to 24,200 pounds. However, loading a diesel engine, gooseneck hitch and fifth-wheel will get you to 37,000 pounds of towing capacity.

2022 Ford F-250 Release Date, Price

Ford plans to launch its new Super Duty trucks this summer. This is official, but don’t be surprised if the 2022 Ford F-250 truck arrives later in 2021. The price will once again start at around $35,000 or slightly above that. A higher price is perfectly reasonable, given the updates this truck received. We didn’t mention the famous Tremor package, but this package will be on offer once again.
