2021 GMC Sierra 2500 Denali Changes and Specs

The current generation of GMC’s heavy-duty pickup truck has been around for a while but the company prepares updates already for the second production year. Moreover, the number of 2021 GMC Sierra 2500 Denali updates looks pretty nice, even though we are talking about novelties in terms of standard equipment. On the other side, the overall layout will remain pretty much the same.

This means you may count on the most luxurious version of the truck. It comes with loads of standard equipment but also utilizes some exclusive styling and interior details. Also, you may count on two engine options, both diesel and gasoline-powered options. The new model should the market sometime in the second half of the year.

What’s new for 2021?

As we already mentioned, the number of changes for the next year seems pretty solid and it’s mostly about new standard features. One of the things that come to mind is a new power-retractable assist step with LED perimeter lighting, which is a part of the new Black Diamond Edition package. This package also includes goodies like Auxiliary Trailer Camera, MultiPro Audio System by Kicker, Front floor liners with removable carpet insert, Rear floor liners with removable carpet insert, Trailer tire pressure monitor sensors, Power-retractable assist steps with LED perimeter lighting and 20-inch high gloss Black painted aluminum wheels.

Speaking of the wheels, the company has prepared a whole bunch of new rims, which will be available not just in Denali, but in other trim levels as well.  If names mean something to you, here they are: 20-inch high gloss black-painted aluminum, 20-inch Black Transit wheels, 20-inch high gloss Black aluminum wheels with machined inserts, and 20-inch multi-dimensional Chrome.

Another interesting novelty for the next year is the addition of a new set of available premium front or rear floor liners with removable carper inserts. This feature is optional.

2021 GMC Sierra 2500 Denali Design

As you can see, there are some interesting 2021 GMC Sierra 2500 Denali novelties. However, most of the things are about to remain the same. Essentially, we will see the identical model as for the current year, which is characterized by several upgrades compared to the standard model. Of course, you may count on loads of chrome, as well as on unique wheels and grille design. The rest of the look isn’t that different and it heavily relies on base models.

The same thing goes for the interior design, where you can see higher-quality materials, but also some finer color schemes and aesthetical solutions. There is also an exclusive steering wheel, as well as a long list of standard and optional equipment.

Features

We already mentioned all the novelties for the 2021 GMC Sierra 2500 Denali. They look nice but also tell that most of the things are about to remain the same for 2021. Therefore, you may count on typical Denali exclusivities. Some of the things that come to mind are safety features like parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, as well as a 7-speaker Bose audio system. Additionally, you can get a head-up display and a rear camera mirror, as well as a nice carbon-fiber composite bed.

2021 GMC Sierra 2500 Denali Engines

When it comes to powertrain, we won’t see changes. So, 2021 GMC Sierra 2500 Denali will carry on with two familiar engine options. Base models come with a 6.6-liter  V8 gasoline engine, which puts out around 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. It comes in pair with a 6-speed automatic transmission and provides quite solid performances. However, most drivers would rather pick a well-known 6.6-liter Duramax turbodiesel. This one puts out around 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque, which is superior, both in terms of towing and fuel economy. Also, this engine comes in pair with a new 10-speed automatic transmission.

2021 GMC Sierra 2500 Denali Release Date and Price

Despite the novelties, we don’t expect that the 2021 GMC Sierra 2500 Denali will arrive much earlier than usual. We expect to see it sometime in the last quarter of the year, with the base price around 64.000 dollars.
