Not so long ago, the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD has been spied for the first time. This heavy-duty lineup of trucks is popular like never before, especially after the recent facelift. Therefore, Chevrolet prepares another important facelift. The next model is unquestionably bolder, as we can see from the initial spy photos, and it looks like it will get some changes at the front and back.
This proven workhorse will gain a couple of significant upgrades, and some reports are predicting higher towing capacity. The interior will be updated as well, so we can’t wait for this new model to arrive. There is no official launch date at the moment, but expect the new Silverado HD model next summer.
Spy Photos
The next 2024 Chevy Silverado HD has surfaced in its first spy photos, and we have to agree, that the new truck has a more modern appearance. First off, a Silverado HD has been photographed testing while wearing covers that conceal the front and back sections. It seems that the new model will include a new design of the headlights, probably with a new shape.
Additionally, we noted that the grille appears to be broader and that the horizontal bar appears to be considerably wider. Regarding the rear fascia, there have been few noticeable alterations, and the production has mostly concentrated on the new taillights.
Chevy Silverado HD Interior
The cozy interior of the new 2024 Chevy Silverado HD will remain. This model provides a wide selection of technological options and interior layouts. Due to its larger wheelbase and enhanced passenger room, the crew-cab setup is the best option available. The Silverado’s interior still comes with a lot of standard conveniences, though. However, we think that the Ram HD currently dominates the heavy-duty truck segment with its interior design.
Each Silverado HD has an 8-inch touchscreen that runs the most recent version of Chevy’s Infotainment system. Of course, entry-level models are not so premium, but the offer is more than fair. If you want more luxury, upper trim levels or unlocking some optional amenities are the way to go. Unfortunately, spy shots didn’t provide a new interior of the Silverado HD. Still, we expect to see lots of updates inside the cabin.
Diesel Engine Gains More Power
As before, the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD will offer two engine options. The base engine is once again, a proven 6.6-liter V8 gasoline engine with 401 horsepower and a torque of 465 lb-ft. This engine won’t improve, and the 6-speed automatic transmission will most likely remain. However, an optional diesel engine is about to introduce a serious upgrade.
This 6.6-liter Duramax V8 turbodiesel engine currently develops 445 hp and 910 lb-ft of torque. However, the new Silverado HD will offer the same engine with 505 hp and 1050 lb-ft of torque. That is a serious improvement, so Chevy clearly plans to offer a class-leading diesel powertrain. This unit will use a 10-speed automatic transmission and it will be able to tow over the current’s 36,000 pounds.
2024 Chevy Silverado HD Price, Release Date
Naturally, the upcoming 2024 Chevy Silverado HD will cost more than the current model. A new version should start at around $41,000, per source. Of course, trim levels such as High Country will cost significantly more, up to $70,000. The sales will begin in the first half of 2023.
