Who’s gonna compete with the Ford Maverick? Can anyone else make a small hybrid pick and sell it at a price in the low $20K area? We have more than enough big gas-guzzling ICE trucks. Take a look at the price of gas and tell me that it makes sense to buy something like this Kia. Years ago, Kia showed a concept they called the “Soulster” based on the little Kia Soul. Develop that, put a hybrid in it or perhaps a BEV and sell it for under $25K and you’ll carve out new territory. This Telluride beast… nope. Same old… Same old.

I believe we are missing the point about the truck design. Designed to be a garage sale, shopping, picking up a piece of furniture type truck/car that suits the wife and husbands need in urban settings. I believe Kia has researched demographic trends to come up with this design in order to sell small pickups in the expanding market. segment otherwise why would they bother to build it? Not for everyone but has a niche.

In reply to Jake Fromstatefarm. Totally agree with you. There is room in the bed of the truck for a lazyboy recliner chair and a plotted plant. Great for a family of 4 to get groceries and not much else. 4 Doors, 4 Doors, everywhere you go. You would think that all of America is married with a bunch of kids. So weak, so lame and so lack of imagination. Forcing everyone to buy the same vehicle with not much choice. Detroit made the same mistake with their 1980's PIG MOBILES that were 6 foot wide and 17 feet long lead sleds.

I will just keep buying 15 or 20 year old trucks. You can spend a ton of money making them nice and dependable without spending your retirement for it like a new truck.

I”m with Mr. Talbert. It appears to me that the present truck manufactures have completely dismissed common sense and practibility. Their present offerings are monstrosities and unaffordable vehicles. I am hoping and raying the new coming of the Hyndai Santa Cruz will help alleviate this. American manufacturers come back down to earth!!!

I love my Sorrento but I would like to have a real pick up truck that’s useful for towing and hauling not just to look pretty

I do not want a Limo Truck. Give us a standard two seat cab with use able bed and four wheel drive. Nothing fancy just truck.
