The upcoming 2022 Chevy Silverado is about to introduce a new exterior design and updated interior. This famous pickup truck was completely redesigned only two years ago. The full-size truck will not be redesigned, but a mid-cycle facelift is planned. Chevrolet has announced an all-electric Silverado pickup for the 2023 model year, which is one of the most important upgrades so far.
The first spy shots have arrived, giving us an idea of how the upcoming Silverado would look. The cabin design will remain unchanged, although the manufacturer will add new elements. Sales will begin later this year, and Chevy Silverado will remain intact in terms of power and fuel efficiency.
2022 Silverado Facelift
New 2022 Chevy Silverado will get a mid-cycle refresh. This facelift will deliver new styling cues and a slightly different design. The spy photos display a repositioned Bowtie logo higher up on the front fascia. However, we cannot confirm whether this update will be possible on all trim levels or only on the High Country version.
Aside from that, Chevrolet will change the headlights and a familiar two-tiered front grille. The rear part receives minor updates, but the rear bumper and tailgate are slightly different too. More specifics, such as new exterior colors and exclusive updates on the upper trim levels, are yet to be revealed by the manufacturer.
Super Cruise System Will be Optional
On the inside, the new 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 will remain an upright pickup truck, with plenty of standard features and a high level of comfort. The majority of the interior design and its elements won’t change at all. However, the cabin adds more sleek touches and bigger screens, which is a great addition. The center console is refreshed and it wears a different and more simple layout
Furthermore, a new instrument cluster will be available, and the regular 7-inch infotainment touchscreen is standard. The base trim level provides standard Bluetooth, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. An 8-inch display is optional, along with the leather upholstery, and additional safety features. From what we know, Silverado truck will offer an optional Super Cruise hands-free system.
Silverado Truck Offers Numerous Engine Options
As we said, the 2022 Chevy Silverado comes with the same powertrain lineup. Moreover, the manufacturer won’t deliver improvements in terms of power and fuel efficiency. A 4.3-liter V6 gasoline engine is standard once again. This unit is using a 6-speed automatic transmission and it generates 285 hp and 305 lb-ft of torque. A smaller 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine is optional. This output is rated at 310 horses and 347 lb-ft of torque. Moreover, 8-speed automatic transmission is in use.
A 5.3-liter V8 with 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque is optional, and it is also one of the most popular choices among the customers. This engine can be mated to a 6-speed, 8-speed, and 10-speed automatic gearbox. If you want a diesel, a 3.0-liter turbodiesel is available. It develops 277 horsepower and up to 460 lb-ft of torque. Lastly, a 6.2-liter V8 is the most expensive variant with 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of twists.
2022 Chevy Silverado Price, Release Date
According to numerous experts, new 2022 Chevy Silverado will cost more than its predecessor. New price for the base model starts at $31,000. The sales will begin later in 2021 and Silverado will continue its rivalry with the Ford F-150 and Ram 1500 pickup trucks.
