2024 Toyota Tundra Price, Changes, Tundra EV

We are getting another full-size pickup truck, the 2024 Toyota Tundra is about to arrive. The big Tundra has been one of the top-selling pickups on the market. It did a lot of things properly for a long time. It’s been raging on and off the road since 1999. It is about time for a redesign and to update certain aspects of the truck.

We are mostly looking at interior changes and updating technology. However, we might see noticeable tweaks to the exterior. As far as the powertrain is concerned, we don’t expect a lot to change. Unless electrification finally happens. Let’s see how the new Tundra looks.

Toyota Tundra Interior

The interior needed a refresh and that is exactly what the 2024 Toyota Tundra got. New seating is available, which means more cushioning and better lumbar support. Also, there will be a massaging feature available on higher trims. The sunroof is unlikely to happen unless it is the Capstone version.

We have plenty of legroom and headroom while seating five people. There will be standard connectivity with infotainment. Perhaps Toyota decides to increase the size of the currently 12-inch touchscreen. The dashboard is also going to be fully digital which enables easier tracking of information. Hands-free driving is quite the hype currently but still no news from Toyota about their version. Hopefully, this time around we get one.

Visual Changes

On the outside, the full-size 2024 Toyota Tundra is more aggressive than ever. The mean look is retained with a big front mesh and protruding bumpers. It resides on large 19-inch lightweight alloy rims. This shaves off some weight to improve power to weight ratio, and who doesn’t like that?

All-terrain tires are optional on lower trims but standard on higher ones. The cargo bed is the same as usual as the modern tailgate. There are numerous exterior colors to choose from. Ride height is increased to accommodate off-roading fans. Skid Plates are under the truck to protect it.

Is Tundra Ready for Electrification?

Toyota is planning on continuing with the tried and true engine options. There will be only one engine option unfortunately for the 2024 Toyota Tundra. This means we still get the twin-turbo V6. But however, this engine has three output options to fit several roles. First up we have the lowest trim version, the SR. This produces 350 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. One level above it is the same engine but with 390 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque. We should mention that there is a hybrid version with an integrated electric motor. This is the most powerful version of the V6 and it produces 435 horses and 580 pound-feet of torque. The extra torque will come in handy while driving on difficult terrain. Especially snow, mud, and sand.

Tundra is quite capable of tackling the off-road and on top of that, it can be enjoyable due to its comfortable ride. Tundra isn’t on the slow side either for a big-size pickup. It needs 5.6 seconds from zero to sixty. Towing maxes out at 12000 pounds. Unfortunately, due to stricter emission regulations, there will be no diesel version this time around. We know that many people who love powerful trucks are disappointed by that. But electric pickups have some punch to them as well. Tundra will be going green soon. This means a new platform to accommodate all the components. Also putting in a battery pack of at least 150 kWh would do the trick. This would rival the strongest V6 in the lineup with power. Also, it would put the range above the desired minimum. Not to mention that in the long run, this would be worth the money. Gas prices are skyrocketing and this is the perfect solution.

Fuel Economy

The fresh 2024 Toyota Tundra isn’t the most expensive truck to keep running. Considering its size the big Tundra does quite well. It gets 18 mpg in the city and 24 on the highway. Hybrid versions can help in increasing those numbers.

2024 Toyota Tundra Price and Release Date

The newly redesigned 2024 Toyota Tundra is going to arrive later in 2023. Probably the fall, which is just in time to battle it out with other pickups in the class. The price will of course depend on the trim. The cheapest one is estimated at around $37000 while the most expensive, Capstone, will cost around $80000. This does sound like a hefty price but it’s a good bang for your buck considering all the goodies you get.
